Press release from the Presidency of the Republic

The Vice-President of the Republic, Mr Tiémoko Meyliet KONÉ, left Abidjan on Saturday 28 June 2025 for Seville (Spain), where he will represent the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr Alassane OUATTARA, at the 4th United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), scheduled for 30 June to 3 July 2025.
This 4th International Conference, which comes ten years after the last one held in Ethiopia in 2015, aims to define a renewed global framework for financing development.
In particular, the international community will have to analyse the ways and means of radically rethinking the international financial system in order to fill the financing and investment gaps needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and combat climate change.
For Côte d’Ivoire, the challenge is to take advantage of this major gathering to strengthen its commitment to the fight against climate change, through innovative climate financing mechanisms.
On the sidelines of the FfD4, Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet KONÉ will be holding talks with several heads of delegation present in Seville.
