Presentation of the Government

of the Republic of Ivory Coast

The Government comprises the Prime Minister, Head of Government, and the Ministers.

It is responsible for implementing national policy as defined by the President of the Republic.

The Prime Minister leads and coordinates government action.

The Prime Minister chairs the Government Council, the preparatory meeting for the Council of Ministers.

The Prime Minister replaces the President of the Republic when the latter and the Vice-President of the Republic are outside the national territory.

The Prime Minister and Ministers are jointly and severally responsible to the President of the Republic.

The resignation of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, entails the resignation of the entire Government.
