Boundiali Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant

Spread over a total area of 78 ha (Phase 1: 36 ha and Phase 2: 42 ha), the project to build a solar power plant at Boundiali was initiated as part of the country’s drive to diversify its sources of electricity generation.
This project will help the government of Côte d’Ivoire to achieve its objectives, in particular increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix (45% by 2030, including large-scale hydroelectricity) and meeting its international commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (31.4%).
At a total cost of €75.6 million, this power station will facilitate the electrification of villages and improve the quality of service for more than 430,000 households. The infrastructure will also help to power around 70,000 homes, save 60,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year, and create 300 direct and indirect jobs during construction, as well as 40 direct and indirect jobs during operation.
